Mac Audio Sync contains no in-app analytics, telemetry, advertising, or crash reporting. The website keeps aggregate installer-request counts and optional exclusion preferences as described below. Your audio, your settings, and your device list never leave your Mac.
On launch, and when you choose Check for Updates, it checks agmapps.net for a newer version. The update check has no account or device identifier, though ordinary web requests reveal your IP address to the server. If you accept an update, the app also downloads its installer. Section 3 explains it fully, including how to block it.

To do its job — synchronizing audio output across multiple devices — Mac Audio Sync interacts with macOS in the following ways. All of this happens locally on your Mac, with no data leaving the device:
The app enumerates the audio output devices connected to your Mac (built-in speakers, external displays, USB DACs, etc.) using Apple's standard Core Audio APIs. This is necessary so you can select which devices to sync. No information about your devices is transmitted off your Mac.
When you enable synchronization, the app routes the system audio stream to your selected output devices in parallel. The audio passes through Core Audio buffers only and is never inspected, recorded, or stored.
Your settings (selected devices, volume levels, launch-at-login preference, menu bar behavior) are saved to your Mac's local user preferences using Apple's UserDefaults system. These preferences stay on your device.
If you enable "Launch at Login" from the menu bar dropdown, macOS registers Mac Audio Sync as a login item using Apple's SMAppService API. You can disable this at any time, either inside the app or from System Settings > General > Login Items.
Mac Audio Sync makes one kind of outbound network connection, and only one: it checks whether a newer version is available.
Starting September 17, 2026, installer requests are counted using Cloudflare Pages and a Cloudflare D1 database. Aggregate counts are retained to show changes over time and are publicly available on the download stats page. Update checks alone do not increment these counts. Repeated requests and interrupted transfers can count; recognized bots, partial requests, and requests with Global Privacy Control enabled are excluded.
You can exclude your browser on that page. This sets an exclusion cookie for one year, or until you clear it. You can also choose to exclude your current internet connection for 180 days, including in-app downloads from that connection. We store a keyed hash of its public IP address and the exclusion expiry, not the raw address. The hash is used only to match exclusions; it is not included in public statistics. Connection exclusions also cover others sharing that address and must be reapplied when your public IP changes. Expired exclusions no longer affect counting and are cleaned up when an exclusion is registered.
The counter does not store raw IP addresses, user-agent strings, audio data, device identifiers, or individual download histories. Cloudflare necessarily processes normal request metadata when hosting the website, as it did before counting was enabled.
The app does not otherwise phone home, does not fetch remote configuration, does not contain analytics, and sends no telemetry of any kind.
A correction, stated openly: earlier versions of this policy said the app made no outbound network connections at all. That was accurate when it was written, and it stopped being accurate when the built-in update checker shipped in version 1.7. The description above reflects what the app actually does.
Mac Audio Sync contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting SDKs, and no social-media SDKs. It is built using only Apple's first-party frameworks (Swift, SwiftUI, AppKit, Core Audio, ServiceManagement). Cloudflare hosts the website and the download-statistics database described in Section 3.
Mac Audio Sync is distributed as a signed and notarized .dmg installer from agmapps.net. Apple notarization is an automated security check; it does not transmit personal information about you to AGM Apps. When you first launch the app, macOS Gatekeeper may communicate with Apple to verify the developer signature — this is a standard macOS security feature controlled by Apple, not by AGM Apps.
Mac Audio Sync does not request access to your Camera, Microphone, Photos, Files, Contacts, Calendar, Location, or any other protected resource. It uses only the standard Core Audio interfaces available to all macOS applications, which require no special permission prompts.
Mac Audio Sync is a general-purpose audio utility. The app has no accounts or in-app telemetry; the website statistics described above do not record names or ages.
Mac Audio Sync has no accounts, sign-in, or in-app usage telemetry. Website processing is limited to serving requests, aggregate installer statistics, and optional exclusion preferences described in Section 3. The public statistics contain no individual download records.
For users in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland: the update service serves the update-check file and installer described in Section 3, which relies on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) in keeping installed copies of the software current and secure. AGM Apps, established in the State of Florida, United States, is the controller for that limited processing. Website aggregate counts are retained over time. Browser exclusions last one year; connection exclusions expire after 180 days and expired records are removed when an exclusion is registered. Hosting logs are handled by Cloudflare under its applicable policies. Where those logs are processed in the United States, the transfer relies on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in our host's terms.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — the EDPB directory in the EEA, the ICO in the UK, or the FDPIC in Switzerland. If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or any other U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have equivalent rights to know, delete, correct, port, and opt out, plus the right to appeal a refusal and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. There is no advertising in this app, no advertising identifier is read, and the website does not use these statistics for advertising. Installer requests sending a Global Privacy Control signal are excluded from counting.
To exercise any right, email help.agmapps@outlook.com. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. Aggregate counts cannot be attributed to a named visitor. Contact us about an exclusion preference or other privacy request; we will not ask for identification we do not need.
If future versions of Mac Audio Sync ever change what data is processed (for example, if we add an optional opt-in update checker), this Privacy Policy will be updated, and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. We will never change behavior in a way that contradicts the no-data-collection commitments in this policy without a clear version-note and updated policy.
